VIMA Group are delighted to have welcomed Antony Thompson as a Senior Consultant. Antony spent much of his early career serving with the Royal Marines. His various roles and responsibilities have included analysis, planning and project work. Upon leaving the Armed Forces, Antony used his experience and consolidated his skills for the corporate environment by successfully gaining globally recognised project, risk and change management qualifications during resettlement. He began his career as a management consultant with Capita, before joining the team at VIMA last month.
Antony comments “After spending the majority of my adult life wearing a lettuce suit, polishing my boots and writing orders I decided I was due a change. That change came in the form of project management and PMO.
I was a little unsure as to what I wanted to do when I left, but being the type of person I am, I figured it would make good sense to conduct the following courses PRINCE 2, APM PMQ, MoR and Change Management. It turned out to be a good decision. Quickly, I found myself working as a consultant in London, shaping the PMO space on a £5bn government portfolio, which was really exciting.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself and knew I had transitioned into something which utilised all of my skills from the military and equally something I knew I could add value in. So from frontline operator; to analyst; to Officer; to management consultant. I’ve enjoyed every minute and I am excited for the future within VIMA.”
